  • Tax Information: Social Security Numbers (SSN), Employer Identification Numbers (EIN), and addresses for tax form generation

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers
  • Usage Data: App features accessed, time spent in app, crash reports
  • iCloud Account: Your Apple ID email (for iCloud sync functionality)

1.3 Payment Information

  • Subscription purchase information is processed through Apple’s App Store and StoreKit 2
  • We do not collect or store credit card information
  • Apple processes all payment transactions

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Generate tax forms (W-2, W-3) and other financial documents
  • Track and record work logs, payments, and Roth IRA contributions
  • Sync your data across devices using iCloud
  • Process subscription purchases and manage premium features

3.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

3.2 Service Providers

We may share your information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our App:

  • Apple iCloud: Your data is stored and synced using Apple’s iCloud service. Data is stored in your private iCloud container and is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
  • Apple App Store: Subscription and purchase information is processed through Apple’s StoreKit 2 system.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Roth Wizards is designed to help parents track their children’s employment and Roth IRA contributions. We take children’s privacy seriously:

  • All data is collected and managed by the parent/guardian account holder
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13
  • Parents control all data entry and can delete their child’s information at any time
  • We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Data Storage

  • Your data is stored locally on your device using Core Data
  • Data is automatically synced to your private iCloud container using NSPersistentCloudKitContainer
  • Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest by Apple’s iCloud infrastructure
  • We do not maintain separate servers storing your personal data

5.2 Security Measures

  • All data transmission uses industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL)
  • Data stored in iCloud is encrypted using Apple’s end-to-end encryption
  • Access to the App is protected by your device’s security (Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode)
  • We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your data

5.3 Data Retention

You control your data retention:

  • You can delete your data at any time through the App settings
  • When you delete data, it is removed from your device and iCloud
  • We recommend retaining tax-related records for at least 7 years as required by IRS regulations
  • Deleted data may remain in iCloud backups for up to 30 days before permanent deletion

  • Access: You can access all your data through the App
  • Correction: You can edit and update your information at any time
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data through the App settings
  • Export: You can export your data as PDFs (tax forms) or CSV files
  • Opt-Out: You can disable iCloud sync in your device settings (note: this will prevent data syncing across devices)
  • Subscription Management: You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings
